This is an early piece done by potter, Terri Axness, an Oregon artist and teacher, known for raku firing, whimsical sculptures and functional pieces. This garlic keeper measures just under 11" high and about 8" handle to handle. The inside is quite large and could hold roughly 8 to 10 garlic cloves. The glaze is a beautiful earthy blue with some lighter areas of tan and brown showing through decorated with fish motifs. There is no damage to the base of the garlic keeper. The decorative fish handle does have a broken nose, however, this does not impact functionality.
